Hi!
Here's a layout for you today with the Vintage Venture collection. The sweet motif is my eight-year-old daughter, sitting on the chair she asked me to paint teal for her room. And of course I did. Anything for her! :-)
Here are some close-ups for yoy:
Happy scrapping!

Samuel and the Sea
As we have passed the darkest part of the winter, and the days are slowy getting longer and brighter, I can't help myself but longing for the seasons when a walk down to the sea is a bit more pleasant than right now. In my stash I found these photos of my nephew Samuel on such a walk, admiting the calm water and exploring all the little treasures you can find when you go beach combing.
Since I'm a sea-lover, and fortunate enough to live close to the sea, I can't get enough of the coastal feel of the Tailgate Marked collection. Here are some close-ups:
Happy Friday!

Summer Memories with Vintage Ventures
It's time to start planning what to do this summer. My kids have a lot of ideas, but one thing is for sure - we will return to wonderful Gothemburg, the second largest city here in Sweden. This photo is from last summer, when we spent a few days exploring this beautiful city.
I love the steampunk feel there is to the Vintage Venture collection, so I tried to emphasize
it a little with some chipboard gears.
Here's another close-up.
So, happy Friday, everyone, and I hope you get a lot of time to be creative this weekend!

Home Sweet Home
2014 was a lot about being away from home. I travelled to Austria and Denmark, and I also went for road trips around here in Sweden. Moreover, I got a promotion at work early on in February, which left me working far more hours away from home than I thought I ever would. When you lead a busy life like that, your home base becomes so important. If I didn't have the open space and fresh air of my farm to return to, I'm not sure I would have made it through to the end of the year. That's what this layout is all about.
I have used the fantastic Vintage Venture collection. I just love the vintage feel of it, and the colors. Every time I get my hands on a new Riddersholm collection, I think that it must be the best one yet, and this one is no exception. It simply is the best one yet! Again!
Here is a couple of close-ups. I have ripped the papers into strips, which I have layered and dabbled whith gesso. I have also used a stencil and some texture paste to add something extra for the bakground. Oh, and check out those gorgeous Wycinanka chipboards! I painted them black and added some gesso there too.
And with this I would like to wish you all a great weekend, wether it will be a busy one with roadtrips and fun, or a calm one with time to relax in your home.
Happy Scrapping!

Christmas in our house
I printed a photo strip with some Instagram pictures from last Christmas, for a layout about how we prepare for a genuine country Christmas. We bake gingerbread cookies, wrap presents, write wish lists, and make our typical Swedish meatballs from the boar daddy has shot out by the sea. We also make lots and lots of homemade candy, of course.
Our Country Christmas is such a great Christmas collection. I really like the colors and patterns of the papers. I have used a 12X12" paper for the background, but also papers from the 6X6" paper pad, which I have cut up in thin strips and layered behind the photo strip.
I put on this adorable chipboard birdie on a swirly branch from Wycinanka.
Here is a little close-up. The stamps behind the decorations are from Riddersholm's Christmas Clearstamp set.
And a close-up from another part of the layout, where you can also see the stamps clearly.
Happy Scrapping!

My winter wonderland
Right about now, I'm starting to wish for winter. It wont come for yet another couple of months, but still, I hope it will come this year. Last winter we had exactly... one day of snow, and it barely covered the ground. The kids didn't think twice before they grabbed the sledges and went downhill on the meadow, trying to steer away from the frozen molehills sticking up from the thin snow layer. I grabbed my camera and went out to get a few shots of our freshly painted barns.
I love our farm in any season, but on a snowy winter day I love it a little more than other days. Especially when I'm outside feeling a little cold, knowing that I have a nice fire going in the fireplace inside.
Don't you just love these adorable little chipboard mittens? I used white mist to color them, and tied them to a piece of bakers twine rolled around a mini spool.
The papers are, of course, from the Our Country Christmas collection.
Have a great day!

Some crafting going on...
I have been printing quite a few pictures from my Instagram account, and I especially love these photo stripes you can get. I ordered one with different pictures from my summer crafting projects, and it turned out so well I just knew I had to scrap it.
I started out with a sheet of kraft-colored cardstock, layered some papers from Tailgate Marked and started working with decorations, masks, gesso and mists.
The papers are torn, sanded, painted with gesso and soaked in different colors, but looking closely, you can still see that they at least used to be Riddersholm papers... :-)
And temporarily, the layout gets to sit on a shelf in the living room.

Summer memories with Our Country Christmas
Yeah, I know, these are Christmas papers. And I know, it is WAY too early to start thinking about Christmas. However, I have had to restrain myself from using them, because they are just so lovely. And now, I couldn't bear it anymore.
This is not a Christmas layout, though. The photo is from this summer, and the great thing about the Our Country Christmas collection is that many of the papers are very neutral. This makes the collection truly versatile.
I have worked with washi tape, stripes of patterned paper, gesso and mist to build up my background
The paper doily is colored with black mist, and I have used tons and tons of my most recent obsession - wood veneer decorations - because they work so well with the neutral color scheme of the papers.
Another close up.
Have a great day!

Biker girl
Boy, was I happy when I saw that one of the papers from Tailgate Marked had a bit of pink in it! I had this photo of my daughter on my desk, and I really, really wanted to scrap it. Can you see how proud she is of her new bike? So, I went berserk with gesso, mist and ink to make the background even more colorful, and here we are - a layout that matches my colorful girl, and her bike!
And then I just had to add a little chipboard bicycle from Wycinanka to top it off.
Happy Scrapping!

A perfect day for discovering
Here is a layout for you today with Tailgate Marked. I have also used my favourite chipboard swirl from Wycinanka and a variety of white ink-it flowers, only I chose not to ink them but to keep them white and add some mica flakes.
Here's a close-up of the flowers and the chipboard, which I have painted with distress paint in the shade "Pumice Stone", which is such a great match to the Tailgate collection.
Happy scrapping!

The pink castle of Steyr - Austria part 2
Here is the second layout from my Austria travel album. The layout is an 8X8' one, and lucky for me, the Tailgate collection has one paper in it that is of a somewhat different color scheme than the others. It has got purple in it, which made it a perfect match for the photos from the castle wall of Lamberg castle in Steyr. I think the first week of april was early even for the lilacs of Austria, but in the sun just by the castle wall they blossomed, filling the air with their scent.
I have decorated this layout with pink cherry blossoms, tiny little roses and then I've added some mica flakes for a sparkling effect. The little cut out from the Tailgate cut-out sheet says "what a day", and it surely was a perfect day with old and new friends discovering a beautiful town.
Even the little chipboard birdies got some sparkle. Aren't they cute?

Just around the corner
I live on the countryside near the coast, and there are so many pretty places just around the corner. Here's one just by the sea, and with the coastal feel of Tailgate I'm sure glad I have a bunch of photos like this snapped on my many walks in the neighbourhood.
The netting is a piece of rustic jute ribbon, from which I have pulled a few strands, just to make it look more like a piece of fishing net. I really love how it turned out!
Have a great day!

Austria part 1
I recently went to Austria to visit colleagues at an Austrian school. Of course, the journey was mostly about work, but we still had our fair opportunities to see quite a bit of the surroundings in gorgeous Upper Austria, with a bit of hiking, sightseeing and driving around. We tried the local food (didn't like the sauerkraut very much, the rest I loved!) at the local gasthaus and the local schnaps as well ;-). I dragged my camera along, of course, and I decided to make an 8X8' travel album with some of the photos.
My first layout is of the view I woke up to the first morning, with the morning mist rising from the river Enns deep down in the valley. Can you imagine waking up to this every morning? It's breathtaking, and I spent most of my time there in awe of the mountains.
I've again used the corner swirl from Wycinanka, but I have divided it here to frame the photo a bit differently. I kept the layout fairly simple to keep focus on the photo.
I'll be back later with more layouts for my album.
Happy scrapping!

The sea
Hi guys! It's Summer and holidays, and as I am lucky enough to live very close to the sea (ten minutes walk, close enough to hear the waves on a quiet night) Summer for me means spending a lot of time by the sea. It's not only in this time of year I turn to the sea though.
Sometimes, my life and carreer can be very stressful, just as it is for most people now and then I guess. For me, there is no better way to sort out my mind at those times than just go sit by the shore somewhere, looking out over the sea, gazing at the horizon, letting my mind go blank and just remembering what really matters. I also love taking photos of the coastal surroundings, and since there are such beautiful coastal elements to Tailgate, it's perfect for those photos.
This one is from one of my favourite locations nearby - a little island you can reach via a tiny little bridge. There are a couple of houses on the island, but most of it is just plain wilderness - wind-beaten trees, bushes and rocks. If you are lucky, you get to spot the white-tailed eagle who is supposedly nesting out there somewhere.
I have used some really fabulous chipboard swirls from Wycinanka. I just left them plain, doing nothing with them. Most of the time, that's how I like chipboards the best.
Happy crafting!

Wonderful Tailgate Marked!
Finally, I got the Tailgate Marked collection in the mail! I dove head first into the studio and started cutting. I just love the muted shades of this collection, and I really think our Connie has outdone herself in creating it. This line works so well with the natural coastal style I love and try to apply to my interior design scheme, and I see a lot of off-the-page projects coming up with Tailgate Marked that I can use for that. Today, however, I have only a card for you.
I left it fairly simple, to lead focus onto the adorable birdie chipboard swirl from Wycinanka, which I left all natural, because I love them the most just like that.
Have a wonderful day, everyone!

Fall-ing?
I'm usually very ambivalent when it comes to Autumn. On one hand, it's a very beautiful season, with all the wonderful colors of the foliage, on the other, it's a season of decay and cold. However, I decided early on that I wasn't going to let the bad things about Autumn get to me this year, because after the most fantastic Summer ever, I actually felt ready for it. So, I set out to enjoy the small things, like the beauty of this scenery - a small lake nearby on a crisp, sunny Autumn afternoon walk.
I have used papers from the Fall Flea Market and raw chipboard pieces from Wycinanka on my layout.

Sunny days by the sea
Oh, this summer was full of them... you know, those perfect days, spent by the sea, listening to the waves and the seagulls, and feeling the sun warming your body. This summer will be one to remember, and the memory of those days will keep me warm all the way through the winter that's ahead of us.
We spent a week in a rented summer house, just by the sea, and we loved hanging out on the smooth, warm cliffs by the water.

Always Remember
Life isn't always happy, and scrapbooking isn't always about remembering those bright, sunny days when everything went your way. It can also be a big help in getting through not-so-happy times. I made this layout to honor a friend who passed away completely unexpectedly and way too early. I was still a bit in shock by the suddenness of his passing, and I really felt the need to create something to sort my emotions out.
The brown envelope contains a note with some very private journaling and an orbituary, always safe and always remembered. There is something very therapeutical about scrapbooking, and making this layout just made everything a little bit easier. Rest in peace, my friend, and let that big, happy smile of yours brighten the days for the angels until we meet again.
I have used some wonderful papers from the Fall Flea Market collection, which I thought were perfect for the occasion, and also some amazing chipboard pieces from Wycinanka.
Take care, everyone!

For Grandma
I made this card, size 6 X 8", for my grandmother, who recently celebrated her birthday. I have actually used A Christmas Story papers for this card. Just because they belong to a Christmas collection doesn't mean you have to limit yourself to using them for Christmas projects only.
I have sprinkled some red mist on the background paper, and then I followed it up with some red and green details. The banner is made from washi tape.
Happy Scrapping!

A layout with Chantilly Dawn
Hi everyone!
Today I have a layout to show you, with a photo of a boy who came along and rocked our world. It's my beautiful nephew Samuel, who is now six months old, and as sweet as they get. Since my two kids are getting quite big (7 and 10) it's a welcome change to scrap baby photos every now and then.
I have used papers from the fabulous Chantilly Dawn collection. I have used a brick mask and some texture paste with really rough texture to create the backgroud, and It came out looking pretty much like te real deal.
Have a fabulous day!
